Turn a broad list into a product question
Choose the object first, then decide what you need to see. The same checklist will not work for shoes, bags and electronics, so keep each comparison group small and specific.
Shoes and sneakers
For footwear, compare the size basis, side profile, toe, heel, sole and likely boxed weight across similar pairs.
Tops, layers and bottoms
For tops, layers and bottoms, compare flat measurements, material notes and consistent front, back and detail photographs.
Bags, sports and accessories
For bags, headwear, accessories, watches, jewelry and electronics, write down the dimensions, materials, compatibility and included parts that affect actual use.
Choose your start
Which category should you begin with?
Begin with the product you can describe without a brand or model. “Midweight zip jacket with measured sleeve length” creates a clearer comparison than a name alone. If you cannot state the product type and the detail you care about, the search is still too broad.
If two categories overlap, choose the one that determines the main check. A smartwatch belongs with watches when dimensions and functions are the issue; it may belong with electronics when compatibility is the main question.
Keep category searches neutral
Use one product type per comparison session. A shoe needs fit and construction evidence; a bag needs dimensions and interior views. Mixing their rows makes price look more useful than it is.
